The Medical Interpreter Online was just released by Cross-Cultural Communications (CCC) on its Blue Horizon online training platform. It offers an interactive, skills-based introduction to medical interpreting.
The Medical Interpreter Online (TMIO) meets the training requirement for the two U.S. national certification programs for medical interpreters: the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) and the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI).
This 40-hour foundation program prepares interpreters to perform medical interpreting in hospitals, clinics, health departments and other healthcare settings. It is supported by the most widely sold medical interpreting textbooks in the world: The Medical Interpreter: A Foundation Textbook in Medical Interpreting (2016) and Medical Terminology for Interpreters, 4th ed. (2019).
CCC is proud to announce this program, which builds on the current 40-hour online training program, The Community Interpreter® Online (TCIO). Below is a brief overview of what interpreters can expect of TMIO and a comparison of TCIO to TMIO.
How TMIO Is Different from Other Programs
