Round Two Has Just Begun: Roundtable on Sino-Foreign Securities JVs

China’s core investment banking fee pool is expected to exceed USD 7bn in 2016, making it, by far, the biggest in Asia Pacific. Domestic firms dominate the market. Sino-foreign joint-ventures have historically had to cope with license and ownership restrictions as well as cultural differences.

After a period of relative quiet between 2012 and end-2015, major changes are afoot. Credit Suisse—the first foreign JV for years to secure an A-share brokerage license in late 2015—is expected to increase its stake from 33% to the maximum 49%. Since the end of 2015, eight Hong Kong and Macau-based financial institutions have applied to set up fully-licensed JVs in the Mainland’s various free-trade zones.

Join a group of senior investment banking professionals to discuss the challenges and opportunities of establishing, running, and growing a securities joint venture in Mainland China. Round Two has just begun and the opportunity is simply too big to be ignored.

This interactive roundtable discussion will be held over lunch (11:30AM–2:00 PM) at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong on November 4, 2016.

Prior to founding Quinlan & Associates, Benjamin was the Head of Strategy for Deutsche Bank AG’s Equities business in Asia Pacific and its Investment Bank in Greater China. He also sat on a number of the bank’s global and regional executive committees.

Before joining Quinlan & Associates, Yvette Kwan was the Regional Operating Officer (COO) for UBS AG’s Corporate Client Solutions division in Asia Pacific, which included UBS’ Investment Banking, Capital Markets, and Financing Solutions businesses, as well as its China onshore securities joint venture.

Participation is complimentary and restricted to a limited number of 15 senior investment banking professionals. Please register now to take part in this exclusive discussion.

Who should attend:
