Seminar on AI-Empowered High-Quality Development of the Language Services Industry & 2023 Annual Meeting of TAC Translation Service Committee

I. Background

The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have led to the widespread application of machine translation (MT) and large language models (LLMs) in the language services industry. The integration of human and machine translations is transforming the industry, reshaping business operations and work processes, and influencing the training programs and goals for foreign language and translation talents. Against this background, the Seminar on AI-Empowered High-Quality Development of the Language Services Industry & the 2023 Annual Meeting of the TAC Translation Service Committee is scheduled to take place on November 3 and 4, 2023. This event, supervised by the Translators Association of China (TAC) and sponsored by the TAC Translation Service Committee, TAC Translation Technology Committee, and TAC Localization Service Committee, aims to provide a platform for industry professionals and stakeholders to exchange ideas. Distinguished guests will be invited to share their insights on the latest trends and advancements in the global language services industry, the impact and empowerment of machine translation and large-scale models on the industry, language service standards and certifications, as well as best practices for managing language service businesses. Through this event, we seek to pool the wisdom of all stakeholders for the high-quality development of the language services industry.
