He has an MBA in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University in Washington DC and has been based in Asia for over 25 years.

Florian is the Managing Director of Slator and host of the SlatorPod podcast. Based in Zurich, Florian Faes spent almost a decade in Asia before launching Slator in 2015. Slator is the most up-to-date source of news and analysis covering language services and technology and works as a distributed team based in Asia, Europe, and the US.

Bryan Murphy is the CEO of Smartling, a Translation and Localization software company servicing hundreds of global companies. Formerly, Murphy was the VP of Vertical Markets at eBay and CEO and Co-Founder of WHI, a SaaS company, acquired by eBay in 2012. He has also served as CEO of Breather and as President of Digital for Serta Simmons. Murphy serves as a director for JEGS.com, and Playpower. He is also an advisor for Starboard Capital Partners and is a former director of Neighborly and PartsSource.

Blanca Pinero is the Director of the Language and Documentation Services Division of WTO since July 2022. Prior to this role, she held managerial positions in several UN agencies in the areas of Languages Technologies and Documentation Management, including the International Maritime Organization. A translator by background, she has long experience in international organizations, including IMO, WIPO and at UN Headquarters.

Rakan is among the founding members of Ureed.com and is currently serving a dual role as Ureed.com Chief Operating Officer and Head of Products and Integration at Tarjama.

Today, he oversees seven products (Sales Force, T-portal, T-Staff, AMT, CleverSo, Ureed, SAP) under the Tarjama Group. He is enabling the group to automate the client journey, from prospect – to client request submission – internal order execution – to final client invoicing.

Rakan is a graduate from the University of Manchester with a BA in Economics – specializing in business studies and he’s a General Assembly Alumni with well-versed experience in full product lifecycle management, UI/UX, and the fundamentals of PostgreSQL.

Konstantin Savenkov is Intento CEO and Co-founder. After getting a PhD in 2008, Konstantin Savenkov led research and development efforts for online content services, then worked as Chief Technology Officer at Zvooq and as a Chief Operating Officer at Bookmate. In 2016, he contributed his experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), tech and operations to found Intento, Inc., where they build tools to source, evaluate and use machine translation and other cognitive AI services.

Simon Constable is SVP of Language Services for Visual Data Media Services. Since joining Visual Data in 2015, he has consistently grown the company’s worldwide access and Localization services business, spearheading advances in dubbing, subtitling, captioning, audio description and metadata for international distribution.

Constable’s experience touches nearly every part of the content media supply chain, with a diverse background covering broadcast channel playout to feature and television postproduction to media services. However, his true passion lies in the globalization and distribution of content, so worldwide audiences can discover entertainment and experience cherished titles in new ways.

A recognized industry leader in ideation, Constable continually drives innovation across the media supply chain from operations to solutions architecture. Described as not only a partner but a mentor in every sense, Constable’s reputation has followed him through every step of a career spanning more than 25 years in media and entertainment.

Inspired by globalized content as a child growing up in Hong Kong, Constable knew early on that he wanted to make a positive and lasting impact on the way entertainment is consumed around the world. His contributions are acknowledged throughout the industry and continue to drive his passion and dedication to the advancement of language services.

Prior to joining Visual Data, Constable worked for leading global media companies including Fox and Warner Brothers in Asia, Technicolor, and Ascent Media in London. As President of the Entertainment Globalization Association (EGA), Constable actively supports global language service best practices and security and was voted the no.1 content localization operation executive in EGA’s 2021 Most Influential People in Content Localization. He is also a voting member in the TV and feature guilds of BAFTA.

With 18 years at the company, Scott McCarthy is the Head of Dubbing for DreamWorks Animation. Scott oversees DWA dubbing for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Peacock; as well as projects for parent company Comcast and NBCUniversal — across more than 30 languages worldwide. Recently, he also joined the Entertainment Globalization Association as Vice President; as well as Chair of the EGA’s Awards Committee. Scott has been an advocate for the dubbing industry and his belief in more creative collaboration between content creators and vendors.

A trusted industry expert for nearly 40 years, Carreras has spanned the globe in a variety of roles within Media & Entertainment. He spent the early part of his career as a video editor and camera operator, later moving into TV postproduction where he honed his skills in dialog recording and soundtrack design. While in London, Carreras worked in localization for Disney, and later moved to Barcelona to oversee dubbing, print production and consulting for DTS. In 2008 he joined Ymagis (now called JMS) to help drive the company’s regional growth by developing their European strategy and building out local teams including establishing the company’s UK offices.

Since 2019, Carreras has focused on growing EVA’s localization services within Spain, Germany, and France as part of the organization’s commitment to supporting regional customers with premier talent, state-of-the-art facilities, and service at scale.

Elizabeth McCullough is the Senior Director of Linguistic Validation Operations at RWS. She has a MA in Translation from the Institute for Applied Linguistics and has worked in the areas of medical translation and linguistic validation of clinical outcome assessments (COAs) for over 10 years. Elizabeth has extensive experience working with customers to develop custom solutions that meet the specific needs of the study team, while ensuring quality COA data and compliance with COA regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Michael Rosman is currently leading Corporate Strategy for Verbit. In his role he is responsible for setting the Strategic direction for Verbit’s growth, both organically and inorganically. Throughout his career he’s worked across many industries including: Telecommunications, Medical devices and Manufacturing. He lives in the Seattle area with his wife and 3 kids.

Anna is a language services industry professional with expertise in project management, management and quality systems, and a special interest in the life sciences sector. Starting her career in data annotation in Sydney, she then gained 10 years’ experience in London and Madrid with major LSPs before joining Slator as a research contributor. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Linguistics from the University of Sydney.

Tatiana González-Cestari, PhD, CHI-Spanish has 22 years of combined experience as a pharmacist, pharmacologist, researcher, professor, manager, and remote interpreter. Tatiana is passionate about quality, innovation, compliance and cultural sensitivity in language access. She serves as the Director of Language Service Advocacy at Martti by UpHealth; is part of the NCIHC Board of Directors and Policy, Education and Research committee; contributor to Martti’s blog; and co-author of The Remote Interpreter textbook.

Tatiana has mentored, developed training, presented at national and international events, published peer-reviewed and non peer-reviewed articles, and lectured at various universities. Tatiana obtained her pharmacy degree and her Ph.D. in pharmacology from Universidad Central de Venezuela.

Danielle Meder is the Director of Organizational Quality and Partner Support for Martti by UpHealth and has been a part of Martti since November 2020. She is also a U.S. nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter with over 15 years in the interpreting industry; she is also a licensed trainer of The Community Interpreter International. In 2017, Danielle completed the Certificate in Healthcare Interpreting program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. She has lived and worked all over the U.S. and has spent much of her career in remote positions as a health care interpreter and operations leader with large language access companies. Danielle currently serves on the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care’s Board of Directors as well as a member of the Policy, Education, and Research committee. She regularly presents at national and international events as well as conducts webinars and training for both spoken and sign language interpreters. Danielle is fiercely committed to equitable language access, the communicative autonomy of all, and the advancement of the interpreting profession.
