SlatorCon and SlatorCon Remote
The SlatorCon series is like no other localization event in the language industry. Successfully launched in London, New York and Zurich in 2017, and expanded to Tokyo and San Francisco in 2018 and Amsterdam in 2019, SlatorCon engages senior language industry executives worldwide at least three times a year. In 2020, with the Covid-19 pandemic suspending in-person localization conferences globally, Slator launched the SlatorCon Remote conference series with regular online events.
The first online conference, A 2020 Look at the Global Language Industry on May 14th, featured panelists from TransPerfect, memoQ and Slator who dialed in from Europe, North America, and Asia to discuss updates on the language industry as the world shuttered to weather the pandemic. This exclusive event was only open to buyers of the Slator 2020 Language Industry Market Report and subscribers to Slator’s Strategy and Research Packages.
Our second online conference, SlatorCon Remote July 2020, took place on July 9th and offered a packed agenda with insights on media and game localization, transcreation, private equity, the value of language skills, web localization, Covid-19 impact assessment, and more. CEOs speaking at this localization event included Stuart Green from Zoo Digital, Ed Bussey from Quill, Ann Carlisle from Chartered Institute of Linguistics (CIOL) and Balazs Benedeck from Easyling.
The third SlatorCon Remote December 2020 took place on December 3rd. C-Suite executives from language service and translation agencies, corporate buyers and procurement, venture capital and private equity, and researchers met online and discussed the language industry issues that matter most.
