iADAATPA Platform Launched by KantanMT.com

March 7th, Dublin, Ireland:  KantanMT is pleased to announce the launch and open availability of the iADAATPA platform MT-Hub.eu, and that it is now available as part of Open Source. The code for this new technology platform is currently available to the Open Source Community at https://github.com/iADAATPA . It is available under the GNU General Purpose License v3.0.

This technology has been designed by KantanMT.com and provides a Machine Translation platform for Public Administration bodies within the European Commission. The purpose of the platform is the provision of a highly secure and scalable infrastructural service in the field of Digital Service Infrastructures (DSIs).

The development of the programme was the work of the iADAATPA (Intelligent, Automatic Domain Adapted

Automated Translation for Public Administrations) Consortium. It was funded by the European Commission’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) under the Connecting European Facility (CEF).  This is the largest financial investment the INEA and CEF have provided MT technologies. It is acknowledged as being a milestone investment in the future of Neural MT for the European Union.

The partnership team was made up of Pangeanic, KantanMT, Prompsit, Tilde, Everis and DCU, with support from public administrations in Spain (Segittur and SESIAD). The www.MT-Hub.eu is designed to accelerate Trans-European connectivity, improve access to digital services, and facilitate interoperability between digital services and link national infrastructure to the existing core MT@EC automated translation platform.

Tony O’Dowd, KantanMT’s Director and Chief Architect said: “It’s been a wonderful challenge for our development team, but we are delighted that we have successfully reached the target as set by the EU. We also drew great satisfaction, and learned much, from working with all of our partners in the Consortium.”

KantanMT were the main development group and system architects for this technology platform. The ALPHA version of the platform was released in April 2018, which was followed by release of BETA in September 2018.

The platform contains the following major technologies: –

  • Automatic Domain Detection and Translation request routing
  • Language Detection
  • RESTful SDK (Software Development Kit)
  • Synchronous & Asynchronous translation capabilities
  • Marketplace for MT vendors to provide domain specific and generic engines to Public Administration bodies
