Project Manager

Job description:

  • Managing and developing client accounts
  • Handling client queries and Chinese language queries in particular
  • Issuing quotes and planning projects so they stay within budget
  • Sourcing and liaising with service providers
  • Manage and supervise projects to completion, ensuring project specs are met
  • Proofreading and formatting translations
  • Ad-hoc translation work as required
  • Ability to provide Chinese-English interpretation services for clients preferred
  • Liaising with the Chinese office(s) on translation and interpretation projects


Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Native-level Mandarin Chinese language skills and very strong English writing and speaking skills
  • Translation experience and strong translation and proofreading skills, transcreation/copywriting experience also appreciated
  • Project management experience a bonus        
  • Proven Chinese-English interpreting experience and references preferred
  • The right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship    
  • Ability to work well and remain cool-headed under pressure and up against deadlines
  • Excellent customer-facing skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-starter who likes to take ownership of projects
  • Translation or language degree or equivalent, educated to degree level
