MasterWord Services Inc. Names Jeanette Stewart as Vice President of Operations

HOUSTON, TX – April 20th, 2021. MasterWord Services Inc. are delighted to announce Jeannette Stewart as their new Vice President of Operations, an exciting addition to their growing team of industry experts.

With a wealth of experience and knowledge in people management and the implementation and deployment of state-of-the-art content technology, Jeannette is leading MasterWord’s transformation of operations. Whilst continuing to support customers globally, Jeannette’s focus will be on innovative initiatives in data services for artificial intelligence and scaling human efforts for machine learning. Such services include automated speech recognition, search, location, image and video annotations.

Prior to joining the MasterWord team, Jeannette was the CEO of CommuniCare, a woman-owned, life-sciences, language services provider with offices in London, Paris, Athens, Budapest, and Los Angeles. She has been involved in high-profile projects such as the Genome Project and prototyping the online unified submission process for the European Medicine Agency.

Jeannette is also the founder and president of the non-profit volunteer community, Translation Commons, with a global vision of enabling global communications for all. Since its inception in 2014, the organization has set out to build bridges within the international language industry. Its projects include promoting global literacy, digitizing minority and indigenous languages, and assisting to build associations in countries such as Zambia where translators are sparsely located. Translation Commons evangelizes the use of open source technologies. It is also active in promoting online safety, particularly for children, and battling against human trafficking.

Jeannette has established a relationship with UNESCO in organizing its forthcoming International Decade of Indigenous Languages. She heads a volunteer group of distinguished language and technical professionals who have created the Language Digitization Initiative, which is enabling minority and unrepresented languages and their users to participate in the opportunities arising from a globally-networked world.

A name well-known in the field of language education, Jeannette has worked as a guest lecturer and visiting scholar for several top universities around the world and has written numerous long-form articles that have been adopted by universities as study material. She is a well-known personality who leaves her mark wherever she goes, inspiring many along the way. Jeannette is a renowned mentor, especially to newly graduated linguists. She also introduced and curated Community Tracks for conferences around the world and created several community workshops.
