DECEMBER 15, 2020 – Toronto-based MCIS Language Solutions is delighted to announce three new appointments to its senior leadership team effective December 7, 2020.
“As our business continues to grow and technological innovation continues to accelerate, we have had to rethink how we do things at MCIS,” said Executive Director Latha Sukumar. “We undertook an organizational restructuring effort to determine new ways to improve efficiency and to reduce duplication within and across jobs, functions, teams. We have ensured that the right people with the necessary skills are in the right places producing desired outcomes. Alex Aleinikov has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer, Williams Pedrogan to Director of IT and Internal Operations, and Rachel Wu to Director of Human Resources. In newly created manager roles, Dušan Matić will be responsible for Training and Vendor Relations; Jack Xu, Research and Development; Deanna Nemeth, Communications and New Business Development; and Paawan Bhatia, New Business Development.”
Alex Aleinikov has been with MCIS since 2013 as Director of Finance and Internal Operations. In his new role as CFO, aside from planning, managing and executing MCIS’ finance and accounting activities, Alex will also take a more proactive role with regards to fund development and social finance, and be responsible for developing financial strategies to ensure MCIS’ long-term financial stability.
In her new role as Director of Human Resources, Rachel Wu will lead both the department’s and MCIS’ efforts in planning, attracting, developing, managing and retaining employees and vendors so that they can focus on providing high quality services to our customers. Rachel has been with MCIS since 2015 and was previously the Human Resources and Administration Manager. With this promotion, Rachel will oversee the HR staff, in addition to the Training and Vendor Relations team.
Finally, Williams Pedrogan’s appointment to Director of IT and Internal Operations is the last piece that completes MCIS’ Senior Leadership team. As Director of IT and Internal Operations, Williams will lead the development and execution of MCIS’ IT strategy and will be responsible for ensuring that internal operations are fully aligned with all strategic objectives. As MCIS’ IT and Internal Operations Manager for the past eight years, Williams is no stranger to the implementation of key IT functions as he oversaw the implementation MCIS’ translation and interpretation management systems, the development of a proprietary CRM and managed MCIS’ work-from-home strategy from the beginning of this year’s global pandemic.
MCIS Language Solutions is a non-profit social enterprise that has been relentlessly pursuing its goal to remove language barriers for over 30 years. With more than 60 staff and an engaging roster of over 5,000 language professionals, MCIS provides a full suite of more than 50 different language services. Key services include language interpretation, translation and transcription, localization, training and training development for the public and private sector agencies across Canada, in more than 300 languages.
