memoQ Launches Gaming Unit

The gaming industry has always been one of memoQ’s main focal points. Given the flexibility of the memoQ tool and the company’s deep understanding of the gaming industry’s needs, and with well over 100 gaming customers, we decided it was time to dedicate a specific team to this market.

Games localization requires a fast-paced, technically challenging, and highly individualized approach. memoQ responds by offering customized solutions and consultation to its clients and prospects to help them optimize their localization workflow.

memoQ has worked for many years with a wide range of gaming companies, including some of the most influential ones in the global market, such as Nintendo, SEGA, Sony Entertainment, Riot Games, Gameforge, and GAMEVIL COM2US, serving them with powerful, optimized localization solutions. Our new Gaming Unit will provide a more personalized approach to seamlessly integrating memoQ into existing game production workflows.

With memoQ you have a comprehensive tool that enables reusing existing translations, simultaneous collaboration including the option to share translation memories and term bases among project participants, workflow automation with project templates to reduce project set-up time, and terminology management to maintain consistency within the organization.

The memoQ Gaming Unit consists of Béatrice Compagnon, Head of Gaming Unit; Gábor Kovács, Game Localization Expert; and János Szabó, Game Localization Engineer. Each has extensive experience working with the gaming industry and now all are committed full-time to serving gaming companies with memoQ’s localization solutions.

We also want you to know about two free publications with content-rich, practical, and insightful content to help you make decisions about games localization. memoQ partnered with Slator earlier this year to produce the Games Localization Report for 2019. Based on thorough research, the report features the latest industry and data analysis, along with other topics. Then, memoQ’s eBook LocLand, downloadable from our website, is the ultimate guide to game localization regardless of your experience level.

Some of the gaming events memoQ participated in this year were the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, LocWorld40, and Game Global Summit in Portugal, devcom, and gamescom in Germany, among others. Check back here for links to future events around the world that we plan to attend.
