TLC2019 Announces Keynote Speaker, Venue and Main Events
The Translation and Localization Conference, one of the top industry events (37 ratings of 5/5, 3300+ followers on social media, 150+ speakers, 1500+ participants from 35 countries) to take place for the eighth time in Warsaw, has announced its this year’s keynote speaker Robert Etches as well as the key events of the conference agenda themed “Ready Set 2020!”.
‘The pace of changes in the translation industry has never been this high,’ said Agenor Hofmann-Delbor, Head of the Organization Committee. ‘Discussions about the future of the translation industry usually touch upon the often mocked perspective of 5-10 years. The changes, however, are not only a prediction for the distant future, but something that we can experience every day. Over the last year, we saw that NMT is more and more commonly used by businesses. There are strong indications that the coming year is going to be just as exciting, and that’s why we are glad that the keynote presentation at TLC2019 will be delivered by such a renowned visionary as Robert Etches with Exfluency. We are convinced that his ability to appropriately assess technological trends, proven by numerous achievements, will open our eyes to completely new directions for development.’
‘The industry is changing, and the Conference naturally reacts to these changes,’ he added. ‘That’s why this year, besides a venue change (the conference will take place at the esteemed Sobieski Hotel), we are introducing a number of new elements, in particular an Unconference, translation contests, as well as more networking opportunities for exhibitors and attendees. We are proud to be a professional and friendly platform for translation agencies, freelancers, organizations and companies to communicate since 2012. We are convinced that no good plan for the future of the industry can be conceived by excluding any of these groups.’
TLC will be held in Warsaw on 29-30 March 2019. Registration is open online at www.translation-conference.com. The number of seats is limited, so registration will be processed on a first come-first served basis.
