Translation Industry Veteran Gavin Grimes Joins Smartling’s Leadership Team

Gavin Grimes Poised to Accelerate Smartling’s Growth in Language Services

NEW YORK, NY – December 3, 2020 – Smartling, provider of the #1 rated enterprise translation management system, today announced that Gavin Grimes has joined the company as Vice President of Language Services. As Vice President of Language Services, Grimes will oversee the next phase of Smartling’s disruptive approach to delivering high quality translation services. Grimes will report directly to Smartling’s Founder and CEO, Jack Welde, and will be based out of the company’s Dublin office.

Grimes, himself an industry veteran, brings more than 20 years of experience in the translation management and language services industry. He joins Smartling from Welocalize, where he served as the General Manager for all of Welocalize Europe, responsible for all EU Enterprise
operations. Grimes is recognized as a strategic, customer-oriented leader who leverages an empathetic approach to building and mentoring highly functioning teams.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Gavin to the company’s leadership team,” said Jack Welde. “For the past decade, Smartling has been recognized as the industry leader in translation management software. In this decade, we embark to also be recognized as the industry leader in modern, scalable, translation services. Gavin’s experience in operationalizing language services at scale will be invaluable to our ability to achieve this goal.”

“Smartling is a company that I have greatly admired for a number of years,” said Grimes. “Their rapid ascension to marketplace leadership in translation management is underestimated. I’m excited to dive into the business of Smartling Language Services and play a leading role in
establishing further innovation in the space.”

Grimes’ appointment at Smartling comes at a particularly exciting time for the company. Despite the challenges that every business has faced this year, the company’s third quarter was its largest quarter in the company’s history, and the company expects another record year for fiscal year 2020. Smartling has also recently announced the launch of new integrations with Yext, Episerver, Drupal 9 and an enhanced integration with Zendesk.
