John Fennelly

John Fennelly is the CEO of Lionbridge, the pioneer and leader in translation, localization, and data training services. As CEO, he is leading Lionbridge’s 6,000 employees in over 50 countries. Since joining Lionbridge, John has led a major transformation of the company and returned it to growth.

Prior to joining Lionbridge, John was the CEO of HireRight, a leader in the HCM technology space. There, he engineered a major turnaround effort that resulted in record revenue and earnings growth and led to a successful sale of the company. He has also held executive leadership positions at a number of information services companies, including Thomson Reuters and Sungard.

Mario Tarantino

Mario is Content and Merchandising Manager at Huel, responsible for creating, managing, adapting and localising content on the Huel eCommerce stores. He was part of the team who launched the first fully localised European websites for the company. Prior to this, Mario worked in localisation project management, account management and business development at translate plus, Capita TI and LanguageWire, and holds an MA in Bilingual Translation from the University of Westminster.

Smith Yewell is CEO of Welocalize, which he co-founded with Julia Yewell in 1997. Adelina has been with ICON for over 6 years serving in a variety of roles with escalating responsibilities including Project Coordinator for more than 3,600 translation projects across all project types and subject matters within the Life Science space. Currently, Adelina leads a team of client services associates and project coordinators throughout the UK and US. She has a specific interest in Linguistic Validation of COAs.

Jean Senellart

Graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and holder of a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics, Jean Senellart joined SYSTRAN in 1999. Under Jean’s leadership, R&D teams launched 4 generations of SYSTRAN products. Now, as the CEO of SYSTRAN group, he introduced a new generation of translation engines based on AI and deep learning (Pure Neural® MT). He also co-founded the open source framework: OpenNMT, in collaboration with Harvard NLP.

Amanda Smith

DIRECTOR OF LANGUAGE STRATEGY & CONTENT BUSINESS OPERATIONS

DISCOVERY COMMUNICATIONS

Amanda Smith is responsible for leading the language customisation strategy of one of the largest, most complex and fastest growing media operations in Europe, with 28 languages for Europe and the Middle East and access services. She also heads up the Content Business Operations Team who direct, coordinate and implement strategic projects and new initiatives across 2 large internal teams of 100+ people, applying project management and business analysis methodologies. The CBO Team is responsible for channel launch planning; volume planning and budgeting; supporting special programming initiatives; analysis, metrics and reporting. In previous roles to Discovery, Amanda was Head of Studios at Chello Zone managing 7 local dubbing and subtitling studios, providing services to international broadcasters such as BBC Worldwide, Turner and MGM and Chello’s internal language requirements.

Justin Walton

GLOBAL CONTENT OPERATIONS MANAGER

ITV STUDIOS GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT

Justin Walton is the Global Content Operations Manager at ITV Studios Global Entertainment. After several years in Account Management and Supply Chain Management roles at BBC Studios, Justin changed channels to ITV Global Entertainment in 2015 to head up the recently formed Localisation team. He recently took over management of the wider ITV GE Global Operations team where he oversees the small teams managing Asset Acquisitions, Localisation and Client Services & Fulfilment. He is working on building an agile team, working ever closer with the ITV Global Content team and producers on sourcing content and information earlier in project lifecycles, collaboratively evolving key vendor functionality and metrics, and continuing to expand the range of languages and deal types that ITV services.

Jan-Hendrik Hein

A+E NETWORKS UK

Jan-Hendrik Hein started his career in broadcasting in 1999 as a transmission controller. When he worked at Nickelodeon UK, he moved into management and launched Nickelodeon’s first HD channel in 2010 before moving to Viacom in 2011. He has been at A+E Networks UK since 2015 and manages the content supply chain, playout, distribution and localisation into 20 languages for the company’s EMEA channels.

Florian Faes

Based in Zurich, Florian Faes spent over eight years working in Asia, stationed in Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Before launching Slator in 2015, he was with CLS Communication as Head of Asia and he was part of group management during the trade sale to Lionbridge.
