French parent company Teleperformance lauds LanguageLine for being ‘particularly resilient’ during the pandemic in full-year 2020 results; adds 2,600 ‘offshore” interpreters to the workforce.
Teleperformance buoyed by interpreting provider LanguageLine’s strong first half of 2020 as virtual remote interpreting benefits from telehealth boom and boosts top line and margins.
Operational glitch and unfavorable base effect weigh on LanguageLine’s 2018 results, but owner projects 2019 growth to be significantly above 5%.
LanguageLine contributes EUR 114m in sales and EUR 41 in pre-tax profit in 2016 since its acquisition in mid-September. Company relies almost completely on over-the-phone interpretation, which may make it vulnerable to regulatory changes in the US.
