TAUS and Intento Partner for Enhanced Language Data Solutions

Intento and TAUS

26 April 2021, Amsterdam and Berkeley – TAUS, a leader in language data services, and Intento, an expert in machine translation evaluation, enter into a strategic partnership to realize the full potential of MT technologies, creating an opportunity to train effective MT models.

The partnership between TAUS and Intento combines high-quality, domain-specific language data services with MT evaluation and training expertise. The areas of partnership are defined to be threefold: addressing the need for language data and related services in the MT evaluation, MT training, and LQA phases. Intento will partner with TAUS to acquire test datasets for MT evaluation projects, training datasets for MT training projects, and utilizing the TAUS HLP platform and community in relevant LQA projects.

“Up to ninety percent of machine learning models do not make it into production. The key differentiator is the use of data that is fit for purpose and high-quality that make these models perform at an optimum,” says Jaap van der Meer, Director of TAUS. “By combining our expertise and capacity to generate, collect and annotate language data with Intento’s MT evaluation and training expertise, we expect to offer an accelerated transformational value in the MT space.”

“At Intento, we help global companies procure and deploy the best-fit AI services and we acknowledge that AI and ML performance depends on the quality of the training data,” explains Konstantin Savenkov, CEO of Intento. “By partnering with TAUS, we ensure that the highest quality of language data available fitting the purpose and project specifications will be used in all of our MT evaluation and training projects.”
