The New York Law Journal has released its 2015 Reader Rankings Survey, where it listed two language service providers (LSPs) chosen by their readers in the Best Foreign Language Translation Service Provider, Best Foreign Language Translation Software, and Best eDiscovery Processing Provider categories. The annual survey consists of over 90 categories in areas including research, accounting, technology, insurance, education, financial services, and litigation support. Respondents were able to vote via online ballot. Across these categories, voters could choose from over 800 companies, 500 of which were listed by the New York Law Journal online and 300 were suggested by readers.
In both the categories of Best Foreign Language Translation Service Provider and Best Foreign Language Translation Software, TransPerfect Translations bagged first place followed by TransLingua in second. TransPerfect Legal Solutions nabbed second place in the Best eDiscovery Processing category, falling behind the Symantec eDiscovery Platform powered by Clearwell.
New York-based TransPerfect operates several vertical specific solutions, including TransPerfect Legal Solutions. TransLingua, also headquartered in New York, specializes in the corporate, legal, and marketing spaces. The company is the result of a merger between The Language Lab and Language Matters.
The New York Law Journal is a daily, Monday to Friday legal newspaper that was established in 1888 and is the highest circulation legal periodical in the US with 11,450 subscribers and 3,500 paid website subscribers. According to their official announcement, readers voted for firms that help them “with all aspects of life as a lawyer and legal professional.” Only legitimate end users (e.g. attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants) were allowed to cast a vote.
According to the New York Law Journal, over 8,000 readers participated in the 2015 survey, which is its sixth annual undertaking since being constructed. The program is run by the sales and marketing teams of the company’s publisher, ALM.
