The latest release of the XTM Cloud Translation Management System is jam-packed with new features and enhancements. XTM Cloud v12.4 is known as the Powerful Simplicity release as it favours simple yet robust translation technology solutions. The new update disrupts the industry standards with Computer Aided Review (CAR), AI-based Vector Space, Bilingual Term Extraction, versatile and customizable XTM Workbench environment, and support for Iconic’s Machine Translation engine. Users will also benefit from improved continuous localization delivery functionality, intelligent support for DITA and Excel files and increased connectivity with new API methods.

Inspired by the feedback coming from translators and reviewers, we have enabled Computer Aided Review (CAR) functionality, and given XTM Workbench a more flexible design, all of these make translation and review more productive and a better user experience. Below is a summary of the new exciting innovations added to XTM Cloud 12.4.
- Computer Aided Review (CAR) for non-technical users
The innovative Computer Aided Review (CAR) technology enables non-technical users to perform simple linguistic tasks in XTM Workbench. Account administrators and project managers now have full control over the complexity of linguists’ workspace. The new simplified workbench is another step toward better user experience and higher productivity, by simplifying what users see.
- Vector Space for intelligent and accurate translations
Version 12.4 also sees the introduction of neural network based Vector Space, coming from our XTM AI group. Vector Space is a very exciting new technology that can work out the probability of a given source language word or phrase being the equivalent translation of a target language word or phrase. Vector Space will revolutionize the way in which language tools assist in the translation process. This technology enables new features such as Bilingual Terminology Extraction in this version (12.4), with many more Vector Space based features to follow in future releases of XTM Cloud.
- AI-powered Bilingual Terminology Extraction for automatic glossary creation
XTM Cloud v12.4 brings massive efficiency gains and high levels of accuracy (up to 90%) to the process of building key term glossaries. This is achieved thanks to the Vector built bilingual term extraction that happens during the alignment of parallel source and target language texts.
- Drag and drop and shortcuts for productivity boost and improved user experience
Users want to have more control over their workspace. The new drag and drop option helps them achieve just that – they can move tabs wherever they want in XTM Workbench. Users can apply their favourite shortcut to insert special characters or change segment status, increasing productivity.
- Iconic’s MT now available in XTM Cloud and other improved integrations
Iconic’s bespoke, proprietary NMT allows users to translate more content, more accurately, in less time. And now this can be done even more effectively, directly within XTM, without the need to import and export files. Systran MT users now have access to all MT matching options. Moreover, version 12.4 sees improvements to DITA and multilingual Excel file integration.
- Efficient metric reporting for continuous localization projects
How can you estimate costs of hundreds of continuous localization projects running in parallel? In 12.4 we have added functionality which allows Project Managers to download a report with the history of all metrics generated during the continuous project. Having these comprehensive metrics helps Project Managers estimate project costs and turnaround times quickly and accurately.
- New API methods for intelligent automation
The new update gives users more automation and efficiency with newly added REST API methods. Third party software can seamlessly connect to XTM Cloud and obtain detailed data such as last modification date at all project levels and manual time tracking information.
